Dec 19, 2020News

On December 18th 2020, the PARTICIPATION project officially started with an online Kick-off meeting.

This  research and innovation project has united members from the 15 partners from Italy, Romania, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Poland in one effort to analyze and prevent radicalization

PARTICIPATION aims at preventing extremism, radicalization and polarization that can lead to violence through more effective social and education policies and interventions. Its main topics are also violence, conflict and conflict resolution, transformation of societies, democratization, and social movements.

The overarching objective of consortium is to identify future perspectives and trends of polarisation, extremism and radicalization as well as the social composition of the group at risk in Europe by a participatory and provisional methodological strategy, that permits to co-create effective strategies for prevention with social actors, stakeholders and policy-makers.

During its lifetime, partners will work on:

  • Defining new research methods;
  • Identifying future perspectives and trends;
  • Reviewing existing educational and training programs;
  • Developing innovative communicative tools;
  • Raising the awareness of young people and communities at-risk of polarization, extremism and radicalization;
  • Co-developing policies recommendations.
