Università Roma Tre presents the first findings of the PARTICIPATION H2020 project in an online workshop which will be held on 24th November 2021
What are the causes that lead to extremism and radicalization? How to support civil society actors to co-create effective strategies for prevention of extremism and radicalization?
As PARTICIPATION H2020 team, we are performing research with the primary purpose to prevent extremism, radicalization and polarisation that can lead to violence improving more effective social and education interventions. Built on the expertise of the H2020 Trivalent project we have developed a multi-dimensional complex model with the aim of capturing and exploring contemporary experiences of extremism and radicalization and proposes concrete actions, policies, and digital tools that will empower policy actors and practitioners to better respond to a changing reality.
The research has particularly focused on detecting and examine the radicalization drivers, monitoring radicalism and extremism in social media, in order to assess the effectiveness of counter-narrative campaigns, as well as develop ICT tools and services for these purposes.
Towards the end of this first year of the project, the PARTICIPATION Consortium invites you to participate in an online discussion on the latest studies on radicalization and terrorism starting from the first results of the project.
The workshop will be held on 24th November 2021 on Microsoft Teams Platform from 9:30 to 13:00 CEST and will involve both PARTICIPATION project partners and other experts in the field of contrasting and preventing radicalization and extremism.
The event is open to scholars, politicians, experts on terrorism and radicalization, researchers and practitioners involved in other Horizon2020 projects.
